چند روزی است که فیلم جدید جیمز کامرون به نام Avatar اکران شده است. فیلمی که اگر آن را ببینید تمام تصورات شما را از جلوه های ویژه و تکنولوژی متحول خواهد کرد و در واقع درب جدیدی در صنعت سینما محسوب می شود. اگر به نظرتان فیلم Dark Knight خوب بوده یا اینکه Transformers را فیلمی پر از جزئیات و هیجان می دانید، باید بدانید که آواتار این فیلم ها را به راحتی تا می زند و درون جیب اش قرار می دهد!  
 
فیلم در زمان آینده اتفاق می افتد و در مورد یک نظامی معلول است که به سیاره ای به نام پاندورا می رود تا در آنجا ماموریت ای غیرعادی را انجام بدهد...  
 

طرح فیلم از سال ۱۹۷۷ یعنی حدود ۳۳ سال پیش توسط جیمز کامرون ریخته شده. وقتی که وی برای بار اول در مورد طرح اش با تیم فنی صحبت کرده، به وی گفته شده بود که امکان ساخت چنین فیلمی با تکنولوژی فعلی وجود ندارد. و او مجبور شد تا بعد از ساخت فیلم تایتانیک ( اثر مشهور دیگر این کارگردان ) صبر کند.  
 
این بار کامرون وقت بیشتری برای تکنولوژی مورد نیاز گذاشت. فیلم جدید به دوربین های پیشرفته ی HD ای نیاز داشت که امکان تصویر برداری به صورت دو بعدی و سه بعدی را داشته باشند و افراد هنگام تماشای یک فیلم طولانی سه ساعته دچار سردرد نشوند.
